Welcome to Shinglehouse, Pennsylvania, the heart of the
Oswayo Valley located in northwest Potter County. Just 5
minutes south of Upstate New York, Shinglehouse has over a
200 year history of being the crossroads between Northern
Pennsylvania and Southern Upstate New York. Starting with
the timber industry in the early 1800's with the Allegheny
River and the Oswayo Creek, in the early 1900's with both the
New York/ Pennsylvania Railroad and the Trolley system and
today with Pennsylvania's State Road 44 connecting with New
York's State Road 417.
Shinglehouse is an active community enjoying the best of
outdoor life four seasons year round. Farming & livestock,
camping, fishing, hunting, boating, off-roading, snow mobiling,
sports, sky diving, you name it!!! The Annual Potter County
Fair is held right here in Oswayo Valley and is located just 5
minutes south of Shinglehouse in Millport, PA.
